Oh, Christmas Tree.

The Amazon Rain Forest by Griffin

I meant to post this ages ago but with the holidays here, things got a little crazy! This is Griffin's climate zone/habitat project for Science class from last month. He put in hours of time and a huge effort to get it just right. I showed him how to do a couple of things and then he ran with it. He didn't need to, but he even put a guide to all the animals on his project together. Of course, he did the Amazon Rain Forest because it has a lot of snakes, but he was sure to include the plants and mammals and other reptiles too. He even clipped up that day because his science teacher said he had the best project. But more impressive than that was that Griffin did not tell me this, his friend Mia did. I think that says a lot about both Griffin and his friend. She was proud of him!

Here are some close ups of some of the animals with the picture he found online to put in his reference guide:

Capybara.

River Dolphin. He loved that it was pink. Not much in the animal kingdom is!

Toucan. I showed him how to make the birds from paper and then "fly" them from the top with string.

Venus Fly Trap. Who doesn't like a carnivorous plant? He put this on his Christmas list. We have something else up our sleeves, but somebody else is welcome to fulfill this odd request!

 The whole shebang.
